  • 07/28/09--20:30: Podcasting with Mel Silva - Google Australia - Jul 29,2009 (chan 2966134)
  • IQPC presents 'Financial Services Online' - and in our podcast with Mel Silva, Director of Financial Services, Google Australia, we explore how to identify the trigger points of your primary market within financial services. Drive acquisition through digital channels, increase brand loyalty, and maximise your customers experience - online! About Google: Google’s mission is to organise the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. As a first step to fulfilling that mission, Google’s founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin developed a new approach to online search that took root in a Stanford University dorm room and quickly spread to information seekers around the globe. Google is now widely recognised as the world’s most popular search engine, an easy-touse free service that usually returns relevant results in a fraction of a second. Google’s utility and ease of use have made it one of the world’s best known brands almost entirely through word of mouth from satisfied users. As a business, Google provides advertisers with the opportunity to deliver measurable, cost-effective online advertising that is relevant to the information displayed on any given page. This makes the advertising useful to users as well as the advertiser placing it. Join Chris Archer from IQPC Australia in this interview with Mel Silva. If you are considering outsourcing your PPC Campaign, whether on Google or Yahoo/Overture, make sure you listen to this short clip first to ensure that you don't get ripped off by your supplier! • 04/12/10--07:30: The Death of the Yellow Pages - Apr 12,2010 (chan 2966134)
  • Yellow Page usage is going down. I predict in five years Yellow Pages will become obsolete. In probably three years, Yellow Pages will be an option that will have to be requested. Phone companies will not send out Yellow Pages indiscriminately. Businesses who don't understand this fact will be left behind, as more and more people are using online local searches instead of the Yellow Pages. Online local searches are rapidly becoming the chosen method for finding goods and services locally. I, myself, have not used the Yellow Pages in over a year. Google makes it too easy to simply get online and in a few seconds find exactly what you need locally. Additionally, the information provided in the Google search is far more extensive than those found in Yellow Page listings. But best of all, local online searches are free to advertise in. Google local listings do not cost anything. There is no cost to place your ad with Google, and there is no cost per click with Google for Google local listings. Local search marketing not only makes sense from a monetary point of view, it makes sense in the fact that more and more people are using cell phones, are active, out and about, and have high-speed Internet connections, which makes local online searches a no-brainer.

  • 04/12/10--09:30: Local Online Search Advertising - Apr 12,2010 (chan 2966134)
  • Local Online Search marketing is rapidly becoming the method of choice for finding goods and services locally. Instead of using the Yellow Pages, more and more people are using local online search methods to find goods and services in their cities and towns. I myself have not used the Yellow Pages in over a year. Google makes local online search so easy. In only a matter of seconds, I can find exactly what I'm looking for with a quick Google search. When you go to Google. type in a search for what service or product you offer along with your city. For example, if you're a carpet cleaner in Austin, type into Google Austin carpet cleaners. In that local search, you will see a Google map along with the listings of about eight businesses off to the side. Those are what's called Google local online business listings. It's very important that every business in every city in every niche area gets their business listed with Google local online listings. There is no cost whatsoever for those Google listing, and there is no cost for insertion and there is no cost for clicks afterwards. Once you are ranked well in Google local online listings, traffic will flow to your business free of charge. We all know that nothing is better than free advertising. At Webber Internet Marketing, we teach you how to move your business from the second, third, or fourth pages in Google local business listings up to the first page of Google local business listings. Visit us at www.webberinternetmarketing.com.

  • 01/29/11--16:00: Google Places Listing Solutions for Offline Marketers - Introducing the GPScraper by Russ Hayes - Jan 30,2011 (chan 2966134)
  • Google places listing issues can be solved with good solid systems to attack the ambiguous issue. The GPScraper literally takes care of most if not all of the issues surrounding the ambiguity. Part of the problem in being an Offline Consultant trying to attack this problem is he fact that the approach does not account for all of variables to make good decision. This is normally a function of not having good tools or instruction to handle the gathering of variables. Typically when there is a Google Places guide created to help consultants it does not address the information gathering stage or the research stage. Therefore, it falls prey to the same area of concern that a yahoo places listing does; if you don't know what all of the varibles are, there is no need to gather them. The GPScraper puts the Offline consultant back in the driver's seat and helps them to make good decision. Google Places is no longer the toy for fun that Google Earth started us out thinking it would be. It is an essential to business. Everyone who has a Google Maps listing, is literally putting themselves in the way of a searching customer; which is the best position to be in so that one can generate sales. This is just like having a web page done by Google, if one thinks of the Google Pages Listing or the Google Sites Listing that would be partially correct. Google Places is free like those services are except that it is interactive with other sites on the web as well as the general public. It becomes the new yellow pages to customers and the Google Local Listing to the business. The GPScrapter makes it easy to manage all of the necessary variables to successfully navigate this process.
